Lesley Le Grange is Distinguished Professor in the Faculty of Education at Stellenbosch University, South Africa. He previously served as Chair of the Department of Curriculum Studies and as Vice-Dean (Research) of the Faculty of Education.

His teaching and research focus on environmental education, research methodology, science education, and curriculum and assessment studies. He has published around 170 scholarly works and serves on the editorial boards of seven peer-reviewed journals. His recent publications have appeared in leading international journals, including Educational Philosophy and Theory, International Review of Education, Journal of Curriculum Studies, and Journal of Moral Education. He has also contributed to several international handbooks in education, most recently the International Handbook of Interpretation in Educational Research Methods (Springer, 2015).

Le Grange is a member of the Accreditation Committee of the Council on Higher Education in South Africa and Vice-President of the International Association for the Advancement of Curriculum Studies (IAACS). He is also a Fellow of the Royal Society of Biology in the United Kingdom.

His current research in environmental education focuses on critically analysing sustainability and its relationship to education, as well as developing Ubuntu as an environmental ethic and exploring its implications for education. In curriculum studies, his research explores the nexus of currere, Ubuntu, and post-humanist theory.
